Introduction

I see things in shades of grey. I have always been this way. One purpose of this blog is to give insight into what life is like for an AS (Asberger's Syndrome) adult living in 21st Century Aotearoa / New Zealand. To take back truth and justice, wherever it may exist... "and f*** the American Way!" (Ice-T). All my life I have been misunderstood, misdiagnosed, prejudged and simply taken for granted. A square peg, a nonconformist. I am of Jewish descent but I like pork and seafood, and oppose Zionism. Bought up as a Christian, but I remain agnostic and a humanist. I love women but I prefer the company of men, and I am celibate. A socialist and republican, yet some of my best friends are pro-capitalist and conservative. Paranoid about war and death, yet both my grandfathers served in WWII. I have studied Maori histories and cultures, to discover more about my own identity as Pakeha. A male whose strongest role models have been women. I reject labels because for many years the wrong ones have been given to me; "unco", "faggot", "wigger", "race traitor", "creep", "pervert", "retard", "four-eyes", "fatty", the list goes on and on.
